Revealing the real side of alcohol, cigarettes and drugs

Display boards with ‘food- for- thought’ messages relating to Alcohol, Cigarettes and Drug consumption were created by FORUT’s ADD focal point for the purpose of utilising them as exhibition material. In each of the working districts, a public exhibition with these boards, will be held, giving attention to these thought provoking messages.

The objective is to create a live interactive forum where visitors can walk in and have a look at these stimulating messages while also taking the opportunity to clarify different social beliefs and issues concerning alcohol, cigarette and drug consumption with the ADD team members.

The messages strive to capture the usual moments consumption takes place, the jargon that prevails among consumers and the pretence that follows. the discomfort after consuming. With bright colours and bold lettering, the punchy tag lines are meant to ring an alarm bell in the viewers  minds and encourage them to talk about issues prevailing in the community.

The maiden exhibition was held at the Youth Centre in Akkarapanaha, Negombo on Monday 10th May 2010 drawing the attention of school children in the area and some community members.
